Ever since I was a child I remember hearing the importance of compromise, and how compromise is the right way to do things. By compromising you can make everyone happy. Over the last few years however I began to see that compromise is actually a way of accomplishing nothing and making everyone unhappy. In politics they cut spending in one program only to increase it in another or create a new entitlement, for a net savings of zero, this is all in the name of bipartisanship aka compromise. They take the country from one extreme to another that does not do anything. If they were to consistently head in the same direction and are patient for results they will come. In politics compromise simply does not work because all you are doing is going from one extreme to another or not going far enough which doesn't have any real lasting benefits. Relationships are different and compromise is a must but in order to make it work you can not compromise on a specific issue rather take turns on different issues. For example this time we will go to see the romantic movie you want to see and next time we will see the action movie I want to see, because lets face it the Romantic action movie doesn't have much romance or action and then no one would be happy.
