Arlington Cemetery pic sparks outrage, calls for woman’s firing

What she did is disrespectful and wrong. The whole idea of challenging authority as a whole i just stupid and something you do when you are in 5th grade.  That being said you don't fire people for something like this.  People need to move on and just forget about it.

Obama: Israel has ’every right’ to defend itself from Gaza missile attacks

Obama: Israel has ’every right’ to defend itself from Gaza missile attacks

Many Jews who support Israel have been very nervous about how President Obama will treat Israel now that he is in his second term and does not need to worry about re-election.  From previous remarks there was cause for concern.  From these latest remarks however it seems that President Obama truly does stand with the Jews of Israel.  I am not a Barack Obama supporter but in this situation I believe the President needs to get credit for standing with Israel and acting like  a true Allie   So as a US citizen who is currently living in Israel I thank President Obama for his words of support.

Bill that can clean up Washington by Naftali Feig

One thing that Democrats, Republicans and Independence can agree on is that there are too many liars in Washington and we the people do not get enough information about what is really going on.  there is a major lack or accountability in Washington.  You can have one member of Congress publicly state that the bill has funding for a specific project and another member saying it does not.  One of them is lying.  These bills are hundreds some times thousands of pages long and the average person does not have the time or the interest to read it all, not to mention understanding all the legalize.  I propose that we pass a bill that would make it illegal for members of Congress the Senate or the President to lie about any Bill that is under consideration or has passed.  When these officials are sworn into office they should be considered under oath.  This Bill will accomplish several important points.
1.  Politicians will actually read the bills that they are voting for.
2.  Since no one wants to read a thousand pages of dull legalize, the bills will began to get shorter and shorter, resulting in less pork and actually passing accomplish the things that everyone agrees on without holding out over irrelevant matters.
3.  We will be able to actually know what the politicians stand for.

Most people will say why on earth would any politician vote for something that makes it illegal for them to lie.  After all lying is their bread and butter.  All it takes is one politician to make something like this public and turn things on there head.  After all why would anyone want to vote for someone who is not willing to say I am no longer permitted to lie to you.  Public opinion can get behind this and we can twist there arm into signing this bill.
One of the problems with a bill like this is that it can cause politicians to play games.  Any time they want to distract they can just accuse an opponent of lying and get them in legal trouble.  Here is the catch if you accuse someone that ends up being found not guilty you loose your job forever.  This may sound harsh but if you can be kicked out of baseball for betting why not be kicked out of politics for defaming another.

Fix voting by Naftali Feig

By law all Americans over the age of 18 are entitled to vote, but should they.  I have long believed that voting should be a privilege and not a right.  Voting is a very serious issue and how we vote can have serious ramifications on the direction of the country.  Yet some people still vote based on looks or personality.  While others vote without fully understanding the views of the officials or issues they are voting for.   I suggest we have people take a test to prove that they know what they are voting for.  The same way it is wrong for Congress to vote on a bill that they did not read it is also irresponsible to vote on an issue or for a politician that you do not know.  I know that this is over simplified yet something of this nature needs to be done because people are often shocked at what they voted for.

Is compromising effective by Naftali Feig

Ever since I was a child I remember hearing the importance of compromise, and how compromise is the right way to do things.  By compromising you can make everyone happy.  Over the last few years however I began to see that compromise is actually a way of accomplishing nothing and making everyone unhappy. In politics they cut spending in one program only to increase it in another or create a new entitlement, for a net savings of zero, this is all in the name of bipartisanship aka compromise.  They take the country from one extreme to another that does not do anything.  If they were to consistently head in the same direction and are patient for results they will come.  In politics compromise simply does not work because all you are doing is going from one extreme to another or not going far enough which doesn't have any real lasting benefits.  Relationships are different and compromise is a must but in order to make it work you can not compromise on a specific issue rather take turns on different issues.  For example this time we will go to see the romantic movie you want to see and next time we will see the action movie I want to see, because lets face it the Romantic action movie doesn't have much romance or action and then no one would be happy.
